CARRIER BAG MANUFACTURERS

From our busy factory centrally located in Nottingham we can manufacture and supply carrier bags for the whole of the UK.

We manufacture carrier bags of all types...

Oversolve are a leading manufacturer of printed Carrier bags and Ecommerce mailing bags. Offering the latest Eco-Friendly material options, these include Compostable and sugar cane alternatives to the standard and degradable additive films.

Recycled films are also becoming more popular with consumers, we can supply 100% post-consumer recycled plastic if the order quantity is sufficient. Overseeing the whole manufacturing process, from the extrusion of film to printing and then finally to conversion into the finished product.

Oversolves manufacturing ability allows us to produce finished bespoke product designed specifically to satisfy your requirements.

Manufacturing polyethylene Carrier bags starts with the small plastic pellets that are supplied to the film specifications needed for each finished product.

These plastic pellets are made in different densities with common types being LDPE, (Low Density Polyethylene ) MDPE ( Medium Density ) or HDPE ( High Density) blown-film extrusion process.

Low Density film is a softer material, whilst High Density has more rigidity with a higher tensile strength due to the tighter and compact molecules. This means that HDPE can be extruded at thinner gauges but still offer the same strength as an LDPE Carrier bag which is twice as thick.

In the blown-film extrusion process, small plastic pellets (also called resin) are melted down under controlled conditions so that they become molten and pliable.

They are then pressed (extruded) through a circular die gap to form a continuous tube of plastic. While it is still in this molten state, the tube is pinched off at one end and then inflated and stretched to the size and thickness of the desired finished product.

The inflated bubble of plastic is drawn vertically up a tower so that it has a chance to cool before it is flattened out and wound onto sets of bimodal (Bi-axial) Weight distribution rollers which even out the film so it is the same thickness all over.

After the film is on a roll and has been treated for print, ( TFP ) this means all the static charge is taken from it so that inks will adhere to the surface, It can then be cut to form tubing, single-wound sheeting, or centre fold sheeting.

The film is then transferred to the inline printing machines where we can then print up to six colours on both sides of the bags.
Once the film is printed the roll is transported to the conversion machine.

Polyethylene Carrier bags are made by heat sealing the sides and then punching a cut out handle or adding a flexi-loop handle on to the film, then cutting to make an individual bag.

In some cases, with small bags, machine cycle speeds may produce up to 70,000 bags per hour. In other instances, a large bag may run as slowly as 2,000 bags per hour.

The individual finished bags are then packed suitably into corrugated cartons for transportation to the delivery address.
